I have decided to take a page out of Julie Powell’s book and blog about a specific task.

But I can’t even cook noodles, so all of Julia Child’s recipes is out…

As an avid fan of the Gilmore Girls, I have seen every episode at least once (Many probably around 5 or 6 times).  This show brought together me and my college roommates.  We used it as a reward for studying (or sitting still and pretending to study), we quote it regularly, and now that we all live apart from each other, we text quotes that relate to our lives that we think will make each other laugh.

If you’ve ever seen the show, even once, you know that along with fast-talking, the show is also known for is abundance of pop culture references.  One girl is vowing to read every book mentioned on the show (You can follow her journey on twitter at rorysreqreading)!  My roommate mentioned the other day that she would love to catalog all the musical references on the show.  My goal is, in my opinion, slightly easier.

I am going to watch every movie mentioned in the show…and blog a review.

To give you an idea of how immense this task is, I’ve compiled a list of all the movies referenced in just season 1…It’s 59.  This is just the first of seven seasons.

Yeah, I definitely have too much time on my hands.  But I thought this would be a great way to see a bunch of really great, and some really obscure movies.

I’m still currently working on creating my lists of movies by season, but as I get them, I will post them.

If you think I’m crazy, I totally am.  But no one’s forcing you to read about it!

  1. I’m looking forward to when you get to “Riding the Bus with My Sister” haha 🙂

  2. Haha very cool! Good luck with Fatso! We never got a clip of it, but the dialogue alone makes one curious.

  3. Love this idea and will be following your reports 🙂
